Leave your car behind!   Walk, cycle, take the minibus…

1.  Join a guided walk of eco-renovation homes

As part of Stroud Walking Festival 2010, Stroud District Council have organised two guided walks around a range of eco-renovated open homes.  On Saturday there will be a walk from Painswick to Stroud (5 miles) and on Sunday from Rodborough to Stroud (3 miles).

You will see renewable technologies in action, sustainable housing, ‘hard to treat’ insulation…and everything in between.

2.  Join the minibus eco-renovation safari

On Saturday and Sunday a minibus run by Gloucestershire Minibus Scheme (www.glosminibusscheme.co.uk) will leave central Stroud at 10.00 am and take passengers to a range of eco-renovated homes.  The tour will cost £5.  A relaxed way to get around Open Homes with no worries about directions and parking.

3.  Join a guided cycle tour

On Saturday and Sunday there will be a cycle tour of a selection of Open Homes.   There will be some hills!

For Sunday contact Clare Sheridan on 01453 827286 clare@solarious.co.uk.  This ride will visit four homes in the morning and four in the afternoon.

At the Eco-Fair (Saturday 11 September) there will be a number of eco-installing businesses on show – plus a café serving delicious food and drinks!

A Preview Evening (Wednesday 8 September) will provide advice on first steps to a more sustainable home.
