Stroud Eco-Renovation Open Homes 2010

March 7th, 2010

Welcome!  This year’s Stroud Eco-Renovation Open Homes Weekend will be on 11th and 12th September 2010

The third edition of the Eco-Renovation Open Homes Weekend has just started!  Several new householders as well as home-owners from last year have already agreed to take part and offer visitors a chance to see their homes and the measures they have taken

We are still looking for more houses so if you are interested in taking part this year, or would like to know more about the project, please contact with Neil Buick on n.mail@virgin.net or Marta Suárez on martasuarez26@gmail.com.

We will update this website as the programme is firmed up.  We are planning to have at least 20 open homes and a day-long eco-installers exhibition in the town centre.  See opposite for LAST YEAR’S open homes.

The concept of the open homes weekend is to give people the opportunity to visit various home-owners in the Stroud area over a weekend:

  • to see and learn more about solar, insulation, Sustainable Urban Drainage systems and more
  • be able to talk to householders who have taken these measures, to ask them why they chose them and how the equipment is performing
  • to increase interest in insulation and energy efficiency as well as Low and Zero Carbon technologies so that more home-owners will be encouraged to help to reduce Stroud District’s carbon footprint and lessen the impact of Peak Oil.
